Madrona Cottage

Few property types offer the quiet charm of a well-proportioned cottage. Our work on this home near the shore of Lake Washington was focused on making the most of a limited footprint without sacrificing comfort or character.

Design decisions were guided by how the house would be used day to day, allowing the layout to be refined and storage thoughtfully integrated throughout. In the primary living space, discreet built-in cabinetry was incorporated beside the fireplace to increase functionality while preserving the room’s original warmth. The result is a home that feels efficient and livable, yet relaxed and timeless—proof that careful planning can make even a compact cottage feel generous.
